Academic credit is calculated according to workload and number of study hours per each course. Each credit include workload for 25 hours. Student earns credit after successfully completing the course (51 out of 100).

The optional courses of Bachelor programs (except Bachelor program in Law) are not obligatory, but recommended. Instead of the optional courses, students can select courses from other Bachelor programs (take “free credits”). The only constraint may be prerequisites of those courses. The number of “free credits” are determined individually for each program and may fully equal the number of optional credits for each program.

Student can earn 60 or more (no more than 75) credits during each academic year.
Student can earn 30 or more (no more than 45) credits during each semester if his/her workload is not more than 75 credits during the whole academic year.
Students of last year/semester can earn more or less credits than determined (but no more than 45), if their workload is not more than 75 credits during the whole academic year.
It is possible to earn more or less than 60 credits a year (no more than 75 credits) according to the peculiarities of each academic program.

The cost of academic course is determined according to annual tuition fee and the number of academic credits. For example, if your annual tuition fee is 2500, then the cost per credit is 2500/60=41.7. Accordingly, if, let’s say, your academic course is of 3 credits, the cost of the course will be 41,7X3=125,1 GEL.

In case of good excuses (such as: health problems, child-birth, accident, death of family member: mother, father, sister, brother, spouse, grandmother, grandfather. (Administration must be informed in advance about these causes), participation in cultural-sports activities on behalf of the University) passing of those exams are completely free. In case of no excuses, it is possible to pass missed midterm/final exams only after paying relevant compensation determined by special act of Rector.

Suspension of student status means exempting from performing duties and responsibilities on behalf of student and the University for no more than 5 years.
Termination of student status means exempting from performing duties and responsibilities on behalf of student and the University without any possibility of its reinstatement. During 12 months after termination, status is still considered to be suspended, so student can move to other higher educational institution with mobility procedures during that period.

In case of termination of study during the period between registration and beginning of the academic process, student can get refund - 2/3 of the annual tuition fee. Students who terminate their study 3 weeks before starting academic process will get half of the fee as a refund. After 3 weeks from starting the academic process, students can not demand any refund and they also lose the right to use it in next year/semester. Student, whose study is terminated due to the breaking of rules of behavior, will not get refund.

The causes for a sabbatical year are: specific health problems, approved with relevant documents, moving abroad, studying abroad in higher educational institutions, permanent participation in regional or/and international sports and cultural tournaments, contests, meetings and tours that makes impossible students’ involvement in academic process; other objective causes that make impossible to continue study during ongoing or next semester.

If a student serves special notice to administration no later than 3 weeks before starting academic year/semester, the payed tuition fee will be valid after sabbatical. In other cases, student loses the right to use it during next semester(s).

Mobility is students’ legal right to decide on academic institution/program where they want to continue studying. So, mobility is students’ free movement from one higher education institution/academic program (of the same cycle) to another. The mobility procedures are administered twice a year – in fall and spring semesters. Mobility timelines and available places are determined by the Act of Rector.

Students can use the right of inner mobility after completing first semester of their study. The mobility procedures are administered twice a year – in fall and spring semesters.

In case of movement from one academic program to another, state grant is retained within the frame of tuition fee.

Students, whose academic scores are not less than 90 per academic course during the semester, will get merit-based scholarship. Also, the number of credits earned during the semester must not be less than 27. The amount of scholarship is determined annually by Rector.

Yes, there is. There is a special commission of social issues discussing students’ hard social-economic conditions and decide on dividing and/or reducing tuition fee for them.

Students, who have grade “A” in 85% (204 credits) out of earned 240 credits and no less than grade “B” in other credits after completion of academic program, will get “red diploma” (diploma with honors).
